I’m Matthew Sampson, a mustached New Zealander with an eye for detail, a love of grammar, and very strong perfectionist tendencies. I’m a Christian, a design- and style-oriented writer, editor, proofreader, and homeschooled student. Rising Dawn is my public journal. Here, I blog infrequently about books, writing, reading, etcetera. You get the drift.
Writing is a big part of my life, and my preferred genre is fantasy fiction. In 2016 my goal is to revise, edit and publish The Teller’s Apprentice, which I’ve been working on since February 2015. At the time of this writing (April 2016), I’m outlining for the second draft.
I prioritise recording how many words I’ve written each day. In 2015 I challenged myself to write 100,000 words between August 1 and December 31 and succeeded with 102,501 words by year’s end. In 2016 I’m hoping to write 200,000 recorded words.
